Las Vegas Wedding Story Wedding Bells Chapel 2005 Date: 12/09/08 User: debrab Summary: We dedcided on marrying at the Wedding Bells Chapel on Harmon Street in Vegas.......Whoops Content: We viewed all the chapels on line and decided from a picture (an old one I suppose, later we were told that it burned down and the location was moved) It was a beautiful wooden gazebo, supposedly overlooking the Vegas strip. NOT. We dealt with a guy named Jim, who is the ONLY ONE there and never met in person, despite the comments, I will be there with you all the way. We were told we couldnt view the area we were getting married at because the were preparing the grounds for our ceremony (mowing the grass, setting up and putting up lights). Well now we know why we werent allowed to see it. Dont get me wrong it was nice after it was set up with candles and lights, but not the gazebo of our choice. Well on to the wedding, we stayed at the Alexis and it was really nice (I recommend this) but no signs to show us where the actually ceremony was to take place, no one there to greet us and escort us to the gazebo. Some of our guests almost fell into the pool because the pathway was under construction and was detoured along the path of the pool. The flowers were wrong, the photographer sucked, my 9 year old niece took better wedding pictures, and the video, if you can call it that, in audiable and looking at the sides of our heads. The Minister Sherri asked us do you want traditional wedding vows? We said yes, thinking "do you take this man..." That was not the case either. She went on and on about having children and what good parents we would be, didnt ask us if that was okay. I had cancer and had to have a hysterectomy at 23. So needless my parents were in tears and so was his. Not a good expierence.....I would have chosen to get married on the streets of the strip with cars passing by and people yelling before I did that....... All in all we are married and happy so I guess it is not the wedding that makes the marriage, its just every girls dream........... good luck to those who choose this chapel (gazebo) hope you had better luck then we did Debra B --- Morenci, AZ |
