Las Vegas Wedding Story Getting Married in Vegas, Baby? Mon Bel Ami is the place!! Date: 02/16/08 User: cshel718 Summary: The story of how 2 cute, chubby people had the Vegas wedding of their dreams at a lovely little chapel on the "Wedding Strip". Content: Call me romantic, but I've always wanted to get married in Las Vegas...red velvet, Elvis, huge, cheesy chandeliers... So once my man proposed, I said yes - but only in Vegas. He agreed, but when I mentioned the above, he winced. He actually wanted our wedding to be NICE...and relatively cheese-free. After a search online, we found Mon Bel Ami. The chapel looked pretty, the videos of ceremonies very nicely done, and pictures lovely. And it WAS. The chapel is golden and cozy, and the staff friendly and accomodating. Even on the busiest wedding day of the year - Valentines Day -we were not rushed in the least. Flowers and candlelight and sweet vows, done exactly as we requested...in a word, a perfect wedding. My advice: Book your wedding at Mon Bel Ami, but read everything carefully so you know what to expect. All chapels will require that you tip the minister and photographer - Mon Bel Ami is no exception, so figure that into the cost. You will want more pictures than your package includes, so also figure that into your cost (but I must say they did everything in their power to work within our very limited budget). And get to the chapel on time - they allow 1 hour for weddings so you don't feel rushed, but they do have a business to run - you're not the only couple in love in the world (and especially not in Vegas). And finally: pay the little extra for candlelight - it is well worth it. This is a WONDERFUL place to get married, I can't recommend it highly enough...but don't get so caught up in your wedding that you forget to read things carefully and know exactly what to expect. |
