Las Vegas Wedding Story Vegas Virgins Date: 01/06/08 User: bKOWALIK Summary: After waiting 20 years, A Las Vegas Garden of Love Wedding Chapel may have ripped off the money, but A Hollywood Wedding Chapel made sure I was not ripped off of the memories of my extra special day! Content: The story starts 20 years ago. We went into the Provincial Registry to get our marriage license and were planning on getting married in a couple of weeks, with a small intimate family wedding. When we called the JP, he said “I’ve got a cancellation at 3 the afternoon, do you want to do it then?” We said “YES” and got married in the JP’s living room wearing shorts. This was a second marriage for both of us, so we decided that if we made it to 20, we would go to Vegas and get Elvis to marry us. This was the trip! We looked on line at the chapels and Elvis weddings available and now, in retrospect, I wish I had done a little more investigation. We booked our wedding at A Las Vegas Garden of Love Wedding Chapel. They called to confirm and were very pleasant and helpful on the telephone. However alarm bells should have gone off when they billed my credit card for the whole wedding and not just the deposit as we had confirmed on the telephone. 2 weeks before the big day, we again received a call from the chapel, confirming when they would pick us up at the hotel, what limo we would be in and the details of the wedding. I was lulled in to a false sense of security. We arrived in Las Vegas with our friends and had a marvelous first day. The second day we were there, I called the chapel to double check the details and received an out of service telephone line message! I was a little upset so my husband and I went down to the chapel. What a seedy place! And on the door was a notice that they had NOT paid their rent and the premise was sealed by the sheriff’s office! My husband and I were a little more than upset! We met up with friends and told them the story and everybody was as shocked as I was. Well, being the optimist that I am, I was not going to let the shady dealings of one bad apple ruin my wedding! I had been waiting for this for 20 years! I called around and A Hollywood Wedding Chapel could take us at 3 pm on the right day and Elvis would be more than happy to renew our vows! We had a great wedding. Our Elvis was a hoot! My husband, me and all of our friends had a great time and the wedding was exactly as we had planned. After finding this site and reading about other people’s problems with A Las Vegas Garden of Love Wedding Chapel – I am disappointed that I was ripped off of the money, but A Hollywood Wedding Chapel made sure I was not ripped off of the memories of my extra special day!
