Las Vegas Wedding Story Our wedding nearly didn't happen ! Date: 12/11/07 User: tansyeccles Summary: Our money was stolen by the Garden of Love - but the Wee Kirk O' the Heathers saved the day !!! Content: We booked our Las Vegas wedding several months ago thru the Las Vegas Garden of Love. We were supposed to go out to Red Rock Canyon, but when the chapel "changed hands" (lost their license due to being a nusance business - don't belive me? do your own research, it wont take you long !) I became concerned and tried calling the chapel to many times to count and got no answers. We finally reached someone when we got to Vegas - and got picked up in a dirty Hummer (KFC leftovers, dirty glasses, empty liqour bottles, trash on the floor) that broke down on the side of the interstate. To make a long and emotional story short - after 45 minutes of sitting on the side of the road, listening to these men (our "planner" and "videographer") cuss, scream, and ignore us - we got taken to get our license by a woman from an "unaffiliated" chapel. We were seriously doubting their legtiamency at this time - and decided to hold off on getting our license until the men returned to pick us up and talk to them...after over an hour, they showed up and when my fiance voiced our concerns, the man said he was not with the Garden of Love, but with the Princess chapel...and we wouldn't get a better deal !!! He tried to throw in all these "extras" that we had already paid for - and when we asked for it in writing, he ran off, leaving us at the clerks office with NO wedding and NO way back to the hotel ! We ended up getting our license, as my fiance was determended to "make it right" for me....and we took a cab back to the hotel where a friend called the Wee Kirk O' the Heathers (featured in "Intolerable Cruelty") who got us in the next day...we had a wonderful wedding with them, got a GREAT deal on our pictures and were treated with respect and kindness ! I don't have enough great things to say about the people at the Wee Kirk O' the Heather....but as far as I'm concerned the Garden of Love and everyone involved in that scam can burn in... !!!!! |
