Las Vegas Wedding Story Our Wedding!!!! Date: 08/10/06 User: Linda McBryde Summary: It was all great...with only one exception. Content: The pastor the church assigned to us was not a very polished public speaker. I sent off my own civil ceremony to the church for their review 4 weeks prior to our wedding on June 17th, 2006. I was sure that was enough time for the pastor to read through it beforehand. I was concerned that maybe it was too long. I had to call them back to make sure there would be no changes. The staff told me that everything was fine and that it was not too long. As it turned out, the pastor didn't read it and stumbled through it horribly!!! He even improvised in the beginning going out of order which resulted in him asking not once, but twice "who gives this bride to this man"? My brother, who was the one giving me away, was extremely caught off guard at having to answer this twice!!!! I was so embarrassed. I know I have to remember that this is Vegas but really a pastor should be able to read and present himself well in public! Other than that everything was great. The flowers were beautiful and the church was gorgeous all lit up with candlelight! It was very romantic. I would recommend the church as long as you get someone other than Pastor Yates to do your ceremony!!!! |
