Chapel: Wynn Wedding Salon and Wedding Chapels
Summary: After visiting and reviewing 33 different Las Vegas wedding chapels, I chose to have my wedding at the Wynn Wedding Salon. In my opinion, Wynn Wedding Salon is the best wedding chapel in Las Vegas because of its combination of superior customer service and immaculate venue.
Content: After booking my wedding with Wynn, I was immediately assigned a personal wedding consultant, Mildred, who contacted me to set up our first appointment. Mildred was everything I wanted in a wedding consultant; she was knowledgeable, excited, and had a discerning taste for all things wedding. Planning my wedding with Mildred was like having my best friend as my wedding consultant. She had an innate talent for knowing exactly what I would like.
One small example of how Mildred’s expertise was valuable was in the selection of my wedding music. One of the most difficult things for us (my husband and I) to choose was the wedding music. Wynn has an extensive music list consisting of about 500 songs. I took one look at the list and my mind started spinning. I realized that I had no clue what music I wanted to play at the wedding. Prior to my wedding I do not think I knew the name of one classical wedding song.
My husband was pleased to discover Wynn’s extensive modern music collection. In fact, one of the songs we chose, Till Kingdom Come by Cold Play, is now one of my favorite songs. I walked down the aisle to Pachebel’s Canon in D and Trumpet Voluntary played during the recessional. The music could not have been more perfect. With Mildred’s help, my husband and I were able to choose the perfect music to play at the wedding.
Another great recommendation of Mildred’s was to use the Lavender Salon wedding chapel. The Lavender Salon is the larger of the two Wynn wedding chapels seating up to 120 guests. My wedding was a small, family wedding consisting of only ten guests. I assumed that I would use the smaller Lilac Salon wedding chapel. However, Mildred suggested that I get married in the Lavender Salon because its larger size meant that the aisle was longer. As a result I would have more time walking down the aisle and my music would play longer. This is something I never would have considered on my own.
As the wedding date neared I became of one of those crazy brides. I would wake up in the middle of the night and email Mildred with all kinds of questions and worries. Each time Mildred promptly emailed me back. She had a way about her that always calmed all of my worries. Mildred also made all of my hair, makeup, and nail appointments at the Wynn Salon. Mildred’s experience as a wedding consultant was priceless. With Mildred’s assistance I was able to plan every detail of the wedding and anticipate all possible issues. I must admit, I did not realize just how important a quality wedding consultant was for ensuring that my wedding day was perfect.
The flower arrangements at my wedding were the most beautiful arrangements I have ever seen! Unlike many brides, I was not sure what colors I wanted as the theme of my wedding. On this point, I relied heavily on Mildred’s expertise. I met with Mildred and after viewing several photos of floral arrangements I decided on using the colors red, burgundy, and apple green.
Once I knew the colors of my wedding I had to decide on the bridal bouquet. The bridal bouquet was the most difficult and important floral decision for me. I choose a bridal bouquet made entirely of red roses with hand placed crystals on various petals and a white silk ribbon covering the stems. Honestly, I had no idea just how gorgeous my bouquet would be.
I could not have asked for a more perfect wedding day. I woke up and met my mother at the Wynn Salon to have our hair and makeup done. I had my hair done by Doce who is a painter in his spare time and in my opinion, an artist with hair as well. I decided to have my hair done in an up do. Doce suggested a low bun called a chignon so that I could wear my cathedral veil and show off my pearl and crystal hair comb. The hairstyle was also perfect because it showed off my earrings.
I also had my makeup done at the Wynn Salon. My makeup artist, Stephanie, had been working on the Las Vegas Strip for over a decade. She was extremely experienced and had an immediate vision of what my makeup should look like. The Wynn Salon uses Laura Mecier makeup and actually sells the products at the Salon. This was very convenient because I wanted to have the lipstick for touch-ups.
After getting my hair and makeup done at the Wynn Salon I headed to the bridal dressing room. The Wynn bridal dressing room had everything a bride-to-be could possibly need or want. The room was large enough to accommodate myself and five wedding guests. It had a three way full length mirror, good lighting, and a private bathroom. I was delighted to discover that the room also had mints, toothpaste and a toothbrush. It was as though the creators of the bridal room anticipated every need a bride could have.
When I walked into the bridal dressing room at the Wynn Wedding Salon I was shocked! Sitting in a vase on the countertop of the vanity was the most gorgeous bridal bouquet I had ever seen. The bouquet consisted of over 100 red and burgundy roses. It weighed at least five pounds; maybe more. Crystals were glued on various rose petals and large crystal ornaments were placed throughout bouquet. The bouquet handle was covered with a delicate white silk ribbon which was kept in place by three butterfly pearl tipped enclosures. The bridal bouquet was absolutely perfect and far exceeded my expectations (which were high).
I was surprised to discover that the bridal dressing room also made a great place for pre-wedding photographs. The wedding photographer took several photos of me in the bridal dressing room and they are some of my favorite photos. The three way mirror provided for beautiful photos because the photos captured both a front and back view of me in the same photo. It was also a special time to take pre-wedding photos with my mother and mother-in-law to be.
After all of my guests were seated, Mildred came to get me. She took me to meet my father in front of the wedding salon. The doors were closed and I could hear my music playing. The way I felt at that moment is indescribable. All of the wedding consultants were primping me and fixing my wedding gown. The second before the chapel doors opened a wedding coordinator radioed to the photographers and said “The princess is coming”. It was an incredible feeling.
I didn’t view the flower arrangements decorating the wedding chapel prior to the actual wedding ceremony. Once the door to the chapel opened, my breath was taken away. Beside each row of guest seating was a tall, circular, glass pillar. The pillars were about 3 – 4 feet tall. They were filled with water, lit floating candles, and red rose petals. The aisle of the wedding chapel was covered in a sheet of white silk and its sides were adorned with mounds of white rose petals.
On the wedding chapel mantel sat two enormous, elegant floral arrangements. The arrangements consisted of a variety of red roses, white hydrangeas, and burgundy peonies. Their size gave the arrangements a sense of grandness. The mantel was covered with lit white candles and red rose petals. The light from the candlelight gave the chapel an intimate glow.
The wedding ceremony itself was romantic and intimate. The Wynn’s wedding chapels are probably the most technologically advanced wedding chapels in Las Vegas. Each chapel is equipped with hidden hi-definition cameras. These hidden cameras captured my wedding ceremony from several different angles simultaneously. I have a very soft voice and I was worried that my guests would struggle to hear me during the wedding ceremony. However, each of the Wynn wedding chapels also has a state of the art stereo system. During the ceremony, I was able to speak at a normal level and have all of my guests hear me exchange my vows with my groom.
The flexibility of Wynn’s staff also helped make my wedding very personal. One week prior to the wedding I discovered that a close family friend was available to officiate the ceremony. When I approached Mildred with the idea of using my own officiant she was extremely flexible and helped me set everything up. Having someone close to my groom and I marry us made the ceremony perfect.
After the wedding ceremony concluded the Wynn photographers took several photos of us in the wedding salon with our family. I think every bride dreams about gorgeous wedding photos to show off to coworkers and friends and one day to children and grandchildren. I was no different. The Wynn’s photographers were extremely easy to work with and were willing to take each different pose that my mother and new mother-in-law wanted. This was no easy task and I sincerely appreciate the photographers' endless patience.
After the family photos, the photographers took my husband and I all over the Wynn for a private one hour photo shoot. We felt like celebrities. We had two personal, professional photographers escorting us around the most highly acclaimed hotel in Las Vegas. Everyone we passed was looking at us and giving us their congratulations.
One of the best and most unexpected aspects of the photo session at the Wynn was the photographers’ unique and magnificent background selections. They used natural backgrounds inside and outside the hotel. Because we were married during the holidays the entire Wynn resort was decorated with holiday lights, flowers, and greenery. It truly was breathtaking. There is an astonishing photo of my husband and I with the entire Wynn resort in the background. There are also several spectacular photos in front of the various designer shops in the Wynn. For example, there is a photo of me spinning in my John Galliano wedding dress in front of the Dior storefront. This is my husband’s favorite picture.
Wedding photos truly are living memories of your wedding day. As such, it is vital that the wedding photos are exquisite. All I had hoped for was one great wedding photo. Instead, I received more than 200 stunning wedding photos. I can truly say that my wedding photos reflect just how perfect my wedding day was.
We had our reception dinner at the SW Steakhouse in a private room. The room was gorgeous. The walls were covered in small amber colored mirrors. The mirrors reflected the candlelight from the chandelier and cast a beautiful amber colored tone throughout the room. The table was made of deep mahogany wood. On each place setting lay a keepsake menu that was created specifically for our event. Because we had all of our wedding services at the Wynn we were able to have the Wynn’s horticulture department transport our amazing floral arrangements from the wedding chapel to the private room. It added a personal, special touch to the room.
The food at the SW was fabulous! Dinner consisted of four courses: an appetizer, salad, entrée, and dessert. I am not exaggerating when I say that each course was the best food I have ever had. I am a huge lobster lover and most of the guests (including myself) chose the surf and turf for the entrée. It was delicious. The lobster was moist and juicy and the filet was perfectly seasoned. Both melted in my mouth.
The SW also offers personalized wedding cakes. The SW’s world class chefs can create any wedding cake you can dream up. For the dessert we choose a vanilla sponge cake filled with vanilla and whipped pastry cream topped with butter cream and adorned with fresh red rose petals. Both the food and the customer service at the SW were exceptional.
If I had it all to do over again, I wouldn’t change a thing. My Wynn wedding was perfect! Choosing the Wynn Wedding Salon enabled me to have all of my salon appointments, the wedding ceremony, the reception dinner, and honeymoon night, in one five star location. When it came to my wedding I wanted it all and the Wynn Wedding Salon obliged. I highly recommend The Wynn Wedding Salon to all brides. The Wynn’s wide variety of services enables brides to have their dream wedding at any price point.
