Despite this, I reviewed and rated the Sahara wedding chapel based upon the higher standards I use when reviewing a hotel owned wedding chapel verses an independent wedding chapel. I did this because I think that brides and grooms considering using the wedding chapel at the Sahara are likely to believe it is owned by the Sahara Hotel and it should live up to hotel owned expectations. The wedding chapel at the Sahara is hard to find! Most wedding chapels at big Las Vegas Hotels are a little out of the way or hard to find, but the Sahara wedding chapel is the worst I have been to. When I finally found the Sahara wedding chapel I was surprised at its tiny size. The Sahara wedding chapel is literally one room in the Sahara Hotel and Casino. The Sahara wedding chapel seats up to fifty wedding guests. I didn’t care for the chapel’s seating which consists of individual chairs covered in an ugly fabric. Nothing about these chairs says wedding chapel. The fabric on the chairs is a pattern of deep red and ivory. The focal point of the Sahara wedding chapel is pulpit surrounded on each side by a four foot high floral bouquet. The flowers in the bouquet are silk, a bit old looking, and are a multi colored. The sales woman, Amber, told me that the best feature of the Sahara wedding chapel is its lighting. Apparently the wedding chapel’s lights can be dimmed to make the perfect wedding atmosphere. Also, there are two sets of candles that are lighted during wedding ceremonies. It’s not that the Sahara wedding chapel is ugly, it’s just not special. In my opinion it’s an average looking wedding chapel especially for a wedding chapel in a hotel. Service Rating: 2 I had to make three different telephone calls to the Sahara wedding chapel before I made an appointment. The first time I called the chapel I was told by the girl on the phone that it wasn’t a good day to visit the wedding chapel because “they wanted to get out of there early”. I was shocked by this. When I arrived at the wedding chapel I understood. Amber was standing in the Sahara wedding chapel in street clothes (jeans and a shirt) holding her purse and car keys. It was then that I figured out that the Sahara wedding chapel was not owned or operated by the Sahara Hotel and Casino. To be honest, I am not sure if there is an onsite office for the Sahara wedding chapel. The bridal dressing room at the Sahara wedding chapel is a disaster! The “bridal dressing room” is really a space in the corner of what Amber called an extra office. I can’t begin to describe how bad this place is. The “dressing room” does not have one single mirror, any seating, any countertops, or even lighting. Amber’s casual dress was indicative of the “casual” service of the Sahara wedding chapel. The staff at the Sahara wedding chapel did not offer the polished, professional service I expect from hotel owned wedding chapels. Sahara Wedding Chapel Chapel News |
