Editor's Review - Monte Carlo Wedding Chapel Chapel
Quality Rating: 2
The Monte Carlo’s wedding chapel was a big disappointment. I was shocked that a major Las Vegas hotel like Monte Carlo only has one wedding chapel. Especially since the Monte Carlo’s wedding chapel serves as a wedding chapel for its sister casinos that do not have a wedding chapel like the New York, New York Hotel and Casino.
After entering the Monte Carlo wedding chapel I was immediately disappointed. In my opinion, the Monte Carlo wedding chapel is not up to par. Usually, I describe in detail the décor of the wedding chapel that I am reviewing. However, the Monte Carlo’s wedding chapel has almost no decorations. Aside from some white floor length curtains that hang behind the podium and two large white flower bouquets that sit to the side of the podium, the Monte Carlo wedding chapel is bare.
Apparently, the Monte Carlo’s wedding chapel designers thought that the four different sets of faux French doors that overlook fake garden scenes are sufficient to decorate the entire wedding chapel. They were wrong! While, the French doors are a nice touch they are a meager attempt to provide a natural, outdoor feel to this indoor wedding chapel.
The seating at the Monte Carlo wedding chapel consists of individual chairs. The Monte Carlo’s wedding chapel seats up to 102 wedding guests. The chairs are made of maple wood and covered in a soft pink-peach fabric. I can not put my finger on it, but for some reason these chairs reminded me of chairs you would see in a conference room or banquet room. They did absolutely nothing to add to the wedding chapel feel the Monte Carlo’s wedding chapel.
On the bright side, since the Monte Carlo has only one wedding chapel only one wedding can occur at a time. Thus, brides and grooms can be assured that another wedding will not be taking place simultaneously.
Overall, there was nothing great or memorable about the Monte Carlo’s wedding chapel. In fact, before writing my review I had to go back and view the pictures I took because I completely forgot what the wedding chapel looked like. However, I do not think it takes a memorable wedding chapel to make a memorable wedding. My feeling is a person’s wedding is always special simply because it’s their own. So if you are simply looking for a space to get married in and are not very picky about how the wedding chapel looks, the Mote Carlo wedding chapel may be the place for you.
Service Rating: 3
The Monte Carlo received a “3” in service instead of a “2” because when I entered the wedding chapel I was immediately assisted by its staff. The woman who helped me was very “eager” and in my opinion a bit overbearing. However, I gave her the benefit of the doubt and raised the score to a “3” because at least the Monte Carlo’s wedding chapel staff attempted to help me.
One big negative about the Monte Carlo wedding chapel is that it does not have a bridal dressing room. For a large Las Vegas hotel this is unforgivable. Instead, the Mote Carlo has a bridal “waiting room”. What’s the difference? At the Monte Carlo brides must come fully dressed to the chapel. Unlike a traditional bridal dressing room, brides are not permitted to use the Monte Carlo’s waiting room to change into their wedding dress. I will not attempt to explain the reasoning behind this because frankly, I don’t understand it.
Also, the Monte Carlo has no dressing room or waiting room for the groom. The Monte Carlo’s wedding chapel requires brides to arrive 15 minutes before the wedding and has them wait in the waiting room, while grooms are to arrive 10 minutes before the wedding and wait in the chapel.
I did like that the Monte Carlo spa is on the same floor as its wedding chapel, but since brides must come to the chapel fully dressed, this proximity is not much of a benefit.
Like its wedding chapel, the Monte Carlo’s service did not wow me. Both the service and the wedding chapel were humdrum. I will not be booking my wedding at the Monte Carlo’s wedding chapel.
