The reception area to the Luxor’s wedding chapel is a small room with a sales desk and large glass cases featuring wedding cakes and other wedding keepsakes for sale. After entering the hallway which leads to the Luxor’s wedding chapels I was quite impressed. The hallway was richly decorated. The walls are covered with beautiful wall paper, have crown molding, and are lined with pictures. The ceiling of the hallway is the source of its grandeur. The ceiling is made of an elaborate wooden design. Large lighting fixtures hang from the ceiling about every 2 feet. As I proceeded down the hallway I found the Luxor’s small wedding chapel. The wedding chapel fits perfectly with the hallway decorations. At the forefront of the wedding chapel is a mural of a large bouquet of red and white flowers. Like most wedding chapels, the Luxor’s forefront wall is lined with floor length curtains. The Luxor’s large wedding chapel is identical to its small wedding chapel. The guest seating in the Luxor’s wedding chapels is extremely comfortable. The Luxor’s wedding chapels have individual cherry wood chairs with cushioned seats for guest seating. The wood adds to the elegance of the room. My favorite feature of the Luxor wedding chapels are the windows. The windows are covered in rows of iron circles. The windows add a sort of old castle feel to the room. The lighting fixtures that hang from the ceiling are made up of several round light bulbs which add a bit of a modern feel to the room. Down the hallway towards the large wedding chapel is a grand waiting room. The room has a large fireplace, two couches and is decorated to match the wedding chapels. The waiting room also has several huge bouquets of beautiful flowers. I thought the waiting room resembled the living room of a very expensive house. Each of the Luxor’s wedding chapels has its own bridal dressing room. I liked the bridal dressing rooms because they were much more open in design than most bridal dressing rooms. The rooms also had a nice floor-length three way view mirror. Overall, I was pleased with the Luxor’s wedding chapels. I was particularly impressed with the feel of the chapel despite the Luxor’s Egyptian theme. The chapel didn’t have that cheesy feel to it that I expected from a themed hotel and casino. I would recommend the Luxor’s wedding chapel to any bride. Service Rating: 3 At first I was going to give the Luxor a very low score in service. When I first entered the wedding chapel I stood waiting for over five minutes for the only staff member present to help me while she finished a phone call. I would not have been so disgruntled if she had acknowledged my presence in someway; a nod, a whisper of “I’ll be right with you,” anything! However, when the woman finally did get off of the phone, she was so friendly and helpful that I had to give the Luxor a decent service rating. The woman was very knowledgeable knowing all of the answers to my many questions. The woman told me that the Luxor only performs one wedding ceremony at a time. This is very important to me. Who wants another wedding going on at the same time or even worse someone else’s loud and obnoxious wedding guests disrupting your wedding? Another great thing the woman told me about the Luxor wedding chapels is that its prices do not change based on day of the week. At most, hotel owned wedding chapels the prices for weekend wedding ceremonies are higher that the price for a weekday wedding ceremony. One difference between the Luxor wedding chapel and other hotel owned wedding chapels is that you are not assigned a personal wedding coordinator upon booking. At the Luxor, any of the staff members can assist you with your wedding. I was worried that as a result, your wedding planning would be more troublesome because you don’t have an individual dedicated to the details of your wedding. No bride wants to be worried about making sure that the wedding plans are correct or that there are no hiccups from lack of communication between staff members. If the woman who assisted me is any indication, I think the Luxor’s wedding chapel staff would help any bride plan a beautiful wedding. Luxor Wedding Chapel Chapel News New Luxor Wedding Chapel Reviews at About Vegas Weddings Date: 08/15/06 Summary:I was pleasantly surprised not to find an Egyptian themed wedding chapel in Las Vegas’s Luxor Hotel and Casino. The Luxor is built to resemble a pyramid and is known for its Egyptian theme. However, the Luxor’s two wedding chapels were decorated as traditional wedding chapels. Apparently, even the ancient Egyptians knew how to decorate a wedding chapel. |
