The only difference between the two chapels is the amount of guest seating available in each. The following is my description of the Bellagio’s wedding chapels. The Bellagio’s smallest wedding chapel, The East Chapel, seats up to 25 wedding guests while its South Chapel seats up to 130 wedding guests. The guest seating consists of traditional church style pews. The pews are covered in fabric and are made of light, natural colored wood. The Bellagio’s wedding chapels are decorated in a nice, neutral color pallet. The walls are covered in ivory and soft yellow-gold vertical striped wallpaper. Hanging from the ceiling of the forefront of the chapel are multiple tiers of short curtains. The wall is inlaid with a stain glass window. The stain glass window is a mosaic style and is framed by matching floor length curtains. The floor is carpeted. The carpet is a floral design. I am not particularly fond of floral carpet, but it’s not ugly. The wedding chapel is lit by two chandlers that hang aside one another. I rated the Bellagio’s wedding chapels only a 3 because the chapels did not live up to my expectations. Anyone who has been to the Bellagio or heard of it is sure to know its luxurious reputation. When it was built, the Bellagio was meant to be the grandest hotel in Las Vegas. In fact, the Bellagio’s wedding chapels’ motto is “Where luxury and romance meet.” Considering all of this I was expecting to be wowed upon arrival. I was not. The chapels were nice but certainly not the best I have seen. Service Rating: 2 Like the wedding chapel staff at Caesars Palace, Bellagio’s wedding chapel staff was not what I anticipated because of the staff’s lack of friendliness, helpfulness, and knowledge. The entrance to the Bellagio’s wedding chapel is much smaller than I expected. The entrance is the size of a large family room. In the middle of the room sits two beautiful antique style chairs. On top each chair seats a large bouquet filled with red, orange, and purple flowers. As I entered the Bellagio wedding chapel I was greeted by no one despite the fact that there were at least two staff members present. After showing myself around the wedding chapels, I approached the staff desk. I requested a brochure for the Bellagio wedding chapels and asked the woman some questions. The woman provided me with the following information. The Bellagio offers a $50 discount per night on its standard deluxe guest room for the wedding couple only. The chapel is open from 9 am to 5 pm and only one wedding takes place at a time. One option offered by the Bellagio that I really like is that you can change the flowers that decorate the chapels to match your wedding colors. In some of the other large casino owned wedding chapels you cannot change the chapel flowers at all. When you book your wedding at the Bellagio, you are emailed a song list of over 300 songs to choose from to play during your wedding ceremony. Also, the Bellagio can arrange to have a pianist or harpist play during your ceremony if you wish. One advantage to getting married in a hotel owned wedding chapel is that you can have the same business arrange both your ceremony and reception. However, at the Bellagio when a wedding has more than 50 guests all reception details must be planned directly with catering. My concern about this is that it would be an additional hassle since you then have to deal with both the wedding chapel staff and reception staff. As disappointed as I was by the ordinary wedding chapel decorations, the lack of service I received was what really surprised me. At most large hotel and casinos, staff is expected to offer exemplary service. I certainly did not receive such service from the Bellagio’s wedding chapel staff. Perhaps the service a bride to be receives once she books her wedding is more favorable, but meeting the staff at the Bellagio did not convince me to give them a chance to plan my wedding. Bellagio Wedding Chapels Chapel News New Bellagio Wedding Chapel Review at About Vegas Weddings Date: 08/11/06 Summary:With only two mundane indoor wedding chapels, the Bellagio wedding chapels were not up to par. The Bellagio holds it self out as a world class resort yet the Bellagio's wedding chapels were rather boring. Unlike the rest of the Bellagio hotel and casino which is decadent and richly decorated, the wedding chapels inside the Bellagio are rather standard. It is obvious that the wedding chapels were not a priority for the Bellagio and did not receive as much attention or funding as the rest of the hotel and casino. |
