After taking the elevator up to the Treasure Island’s wedding chapel, I was immediately shocked. I walked into a HUGE, wild football party. Apparently, the party was being held in the reception hall which is located right next to the wedding chapel. The proximity of the reception hall is ideal if you are having a wedding reception, but I would have been extremely disappointed if my wedding was in the mist of the football party. When you arrive at the Treasure Island wedding chapel you enter into a beautiful waiting room. The room is decorated with fresh lilies daily which add an elegant feel to the room. Also, you may want to consider having a lily bouquet to match. The focal point of the waiting room is a large crystal and lamp chandelier. The waiting room is decorated nicely, as you would expect at a nice hotel like Treasure Island, but I was not overly impressed. The furniture has a French romantic feel to it which I liked, but I was surprised at the size of both the waiting area and the chapel. They were both a bit small. The waiting room only has seating for about six people, but there is plenty of standing room. The Treasure Island only has one wedding chapel. The chapel, like the waiting room, is clean and beautifully decorated. The room is not over-decorated. The focal point of the wedding chapel is a traditional stage area. The wall of the stage area is painted cream and taupe- nice and neutral. On each side of the stage is a large floor lamp and in the middle of the stage sits a large bouquet of silk flowers. The pews in the wedding chapel are covered in fabric- not your typical all wooden pews and there are silk, flower bouquets that decorate the end of the pews. One thing I really liked about the Treasure Island wedding chapel is that it has a separate room for the bride to wait in. The room has its own bathroom and a full lighted makeup area. Another plus of this wedding chapel is that the entire wedding chapel is surrounded by a “secret corridor”. This corridor serves two purposes. First, the corridor enables multiple wedding parties to wait individually for their wedding ceremony. Second, the corridor enables brides to stay out of site of the groom until it’s time to walk down the aisle. Service Rating: 4 The staff at the Treasure Island wedding chapel was very professional. When I arrived at the chapel, there was only one woman standing behind the counter. I am not sure if this was a light-staff day because of the HUGE football party. However, the woman behind the counter was extremely friendly. The woman was eager to hear the details of my wedding, and not because she was trying to pressure me into booking my wedding. She was genuinely interested. A recent bride herself, the woman behind the counter also shared her wedding story with me and gave me some helpful hints. When I asked the woman if I could look at the chapel, she quickly agreed. Unlike many of the other employees of the chapels that just tell me to walk around on my own, this woman gave me a personal tour of the chapel and the secret corridor.
